'E strode closer, dial carried low so as not to pose a threat to the leadership of the land. Halting beside her, 'e swung 'is crown to the others, enamels bared. Don't crowd her, give her some space! 'E cautioned, catching 'is tongue in 'is ivories to prevent a further burst of less friendly warnings. Perhaps seeing a friend in need caused 'im to feel overprotective, but still 'e fought the urge to snap at the nosy onlookers.

Oh D'art! she cried wrapping dainty arabian neck about his. It had been long since she had seen a friend. All these others knew nothing about her. D'art at least new of her troubles. A single tear swept quickly along her narrow ebon facade.
She just stood there next to D'art. She needed this comfort badly. She needed a friend. She needed anyone. Someone that would hold her and not ask questions. She spoke no other words. She rested quickly and unafraid with D'art.

It's okay, I'm here. They won't bother thee now. 'E whispered reassuringly. 'Is topline remained rigid, shielding 'er from the world. 'Is heart broke for 'er, and all 'e could do was be strong, be there for 'er. 'E pressed 'is visage 'gainst 'er, knowing 'er situation and the pain she must feel.

I apologize for my lack of control. She said quickly stepping away from him. I just know not what to do now that...her voice faded. She felt a little kick of her unborn foal in her barrel. She nudged it comfortingly. She looked about once more seeking out the eyes that also sought her. Anger once again burned in her darkened voids. So many unwanted faens and brutes in our land. If Pride had been here....she spoke silently to herself.

It's okay. 'E said quickly, startled by 'er apology. What did she have to apologize for?
'Is attention diverted to the growing mass of well-meaning but unwanted onlookers. Shall I dismiss them? 'E said, observing the onlookers with guarded distaste.

Perhaps, yet I have a feeling that they will not go for long. She spoke with sadness in her voice. voids darted about to all the different equids. No, not long at all. she spoke nearly silently. Once more she nudged the little one in her barrel. soon...

Confused, 'e stayed 'is actions, remaining rooted in place. Attention drawn to 'er barrel, 'is mind strayed to Lakota, who was also pregnant. Perhaps the two foals would become friends...

she looked back up at him, happy he was there with her. Its been so long hasnt it. Much has happened. She looked down to the ground as if ashamed by her words. She had never felt like this. Life felt so meaningless. As though all was against her. No where did she feel welcome. No place or Equid accepted her any longer. Love had left her. Life had left her.

'E nudged 'er neck firmly. Don't be so down. It's always darkest before the dawn. 'E grinned, ever the optimist. The worst of the troubles seemed to be over. Perhaps now 'e could tell the world of 'is past. They would not ridicule 'im. Scorn, perhaps, but not ridicule. 'E had never told them for fear of what they might think, but now they knew about 'is murders 'e didn't see how anything else could damage their views of 'im. Still, 'e hesitated.

This is one Darkness I will never be relieved of. The Darkness was her life yet not the Darkness of death. no matter how dark she was or became death of loved ones never left her. the pity for hersel increased. Life as she knew it seemed to be ending. The only thing she had left to count on was her unborn child. Even then it would not brighten her coming days. Alone she would be throught everything including the birth. Then raising the foal herself. How could it live without a father to teach it anything? her thoughts deepened she becam unaware of the prescence of the others.

Do not fester in self-pity. 'E cautioned, glad for the excuse to stray from thoughts of 'is captivity. Thou dost not need to be alone. I know it's not the same, but I'm here. I'll watch over thee, and I can keep intruders off thy lands if you so desire.

Yes and what of your own land? No Lord I cannot accept that offer. She lifted her head to look him in the eye as she spoke. As much as she wished for protection she could not take him from his ess. Life is too short to remain away from loved ones. She spoke quietly.

'E shrugged My offer still stands. My lands are near these, and I shall not be absent from Lakota's side for long. You're more than welcome to come visit us, you know. 'E wished there was more 'e could do to help, but as it always was, Casia's life unfolded before 'im and 'e never had any effect.

It takes not long for time to pull one from this earth. She spoke still looking at him. I will not forget your offer, for it is very generous. she turned her dainty ebon dial from him staring into nothing. Many things running through her cluttered mind.

As the conversation broke off, 'e found 'is thoughts straying to 'is prior confinement. How lovely this freedom was, but they all took it for granted. They had never had their freedom snatched out from under them. No, 'e could not tell them. T'would sound morbid. And they would think 'im weak for allowing 'is will to be broken. Nay, shattered.
